Rock Paper Scissors Lizard SPOCKWay back in November 2008, the CBS comedy Big Bang Theory had an episode called The Lizard-Spock Expansion where the characters played a game of their own creation called Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock, a variation on the classic game. will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012, but the fans are the
ones who will be receiving a gift. As has been heavily rumored for
months now, StarTrek.com has confirmed that The Next Generation will
indeed be coming to Blu-ray in 2012, and it will be arriving in style.
Fans will be able to get their hands on a four-episode sampler disc
entitled Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Next Level on January
31st, 2012. As previously reported, the sampler disc will include the
show’s two-part pilot, “Encounter at Farpoint,” as well as “Sins of the
Father” from season three and “The Inner Light” from season five. In
addition to an official release date, we also have cover art (check it

but it's on its way. And like so many things in the franchise, it's
starting off with a sacrificial redshirt. Specifically, it's kicking
off with the advent of the RedShirt test server for the game, as
explained in the first "Path to F2P" blog entry on the official site.
It's not that Tribble, the longtime test server, is being removed
altogether -- instead, it's being repurposed to allow current
subscribers a preview of the game's upcoming conversion. Syfy Morlocks Time with David Hewlett and Robert PicardoFormer Stargate Atlantis actor David Hewlett and Robert Picardo of both the Star Trek and Stargate
franchises confront deadly humanoids in the Syfy Saturday night
original movie Morlocks on September 24 at 9pm. In Morlocks with
Hewlett and Picardo, a scientist creates a time traveling device that
transports people into a desolate future overrun by lethal humanoids,
the Morlocks. Unfortunately, the creatures in Morlocks figure out how
to transport themselves back into present day, triggering a race
against time between human and humanoid.
Star Trek’s Bio-Mechanical Type Devices Getting Closer StillWe all know about Geordi’s visor and Picard’s
heart. Compared to the devices we have now the sci-fi versions are
light years ahead…or are they? Thanks to a recent breakthrough,
machines that directly link to living things (i.e. humans) could become
a reality. All this fabulous new science has the potential to lead to
super cool ways of repairing humans who need it. Now…how to keep it out
of the Borg’s hands...hmmmm?... |
